Choice FM has recorded many achievement , including
Facilitation of free treatment for early childhood deceases, such as pneumonia, malaria & diarrhea by partnering with Christian Aid UK, Nigeria. The health programmes has lead to improved primary healthy living. Back to Farm program is yielding very good result with testimonies from farmers coming to the radio station with farm produce to appreciate Volunteer workers of the radio. Other areas like such social economic activities, political awareness, harmonious coexistence and cultural heritage has been given a bust.
We embark on continue in-house training and retraining of volunteers workers to ensure good performance. The training efforts had received the support of Blomberg and Ford foundation through HIVOS and IMS.
Challenges: finance is the major challenge of broadcasting. Radio broadcasting involves continue funding of program development & production, fuelling cost especially with inadequate sun do to the rains and cloudy weather. Payment of sustainable/sustaining allowances to volunteers, general maintenances and running cost remain an issue deserving attention. The local commerce and economy can’t sustain the cost of running the radio and the every increasing need for development.
Cheer determination of BOT Chairman, Chief Engr. Morgan Oluji Okwoche, commitment of the General Manager, chief Ogbu Ego Egoman and Volunteers staff of the radio has earned her an enviable position in broadcasting.
